Calling all Cadbury Inventors! How do you fancy designing and naming your very own limited edition Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bar? Family favourite Cadbury have launched a competition which could see your creation hitting the shelves across the UK and Ireland for a whole year – and you could even win your own year’s supply!
You’ve got until 31st July to take part, so here’s how you can go madbury for Cadbury and get involved:
Designing your Cadbury Dairy Milk bar
The design process is super easy. Just go online to cadburyinventor.com and follow the instructions. Here you can choose your ingredients, name your Cadbury Dairy Milk bar, and describe the inspiration behind your creation.
Choosing your ingredients
Following the instructions is easy, but choosing ingredients from the thousands of delicious and exciting choices will really test you. There’s Nutty, Fruity, Herbs & Spices, Crunchy, Wildcard (just wait ’til you see what’s in this section – there’s even mustard in there!), Chewy, Creamy, and even Drinks options. You can pick up to three ingredients for your creation which means there’s a staggering 90,000 possible combinations to choose from!
Obviously I had to have a go at seeing what I’d create, and I have to say I’m pretty pleased with it. Obviously, I can’t be sure what it’d taste like, but I am confident the professionals would be able to create a fabulous limited edition Dairy Milk bar with my idea. Ladies and gentlemen, I present the Cadbury Dairy Milk Spice Up Your Life – Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate with orange, chilli, and cinnamon. Delicious or what?
My favourite Cadbury Dairy Milk bars have always been either the Caramel (an old favourite – and I’m old enough to remember the adverts with the bunny in) and Whole Nut (I have a very happy childhood memory of visiting Cadbury World in Birmingham and persuading my Dad to leave with boxes full of the stuff which lasted months!) but I fancied something other that nuts and caramel for my Cadbury Inventor creation.
The inspiration behind my Spice Up Your Life entry was simple: let’s try some flavours that complement each other and are different from the existing Cadbury Dairy Milk range. With Dairy Milk Caramel, Whole Nut, Fruit & Nut and the classic Dairy Milk there’s already four bars and a fifth would make one for each of those other iconic British favourites – The Spice Girls (I’ll leave you to decide which one’s which, though!).
If I’ve inspired you – or maybe you’re confident you can do better – then head over the Cadbury website and get to work on your winning design. Entries are being judged on taste and creativity – so make sure it’s exciting and edible!
The Winning Entry
Three Cadbury Inventor finalists will be chosen to have their Cadbury Dairy Milk creations sold in stores and put to a nationwide vote. The winning bar will be chosen on public vote and sales, then will become a limited edition bar in the Cadbury Dairy Milk range on sale in supermarkets across the UK and Ireland. The ultimate winner will receive a year’s supply of their creation – that works out as a sharing bar per week!
Good luck – and don’t forget to let me try some if you win!
NB: I worked with Cadbury to help spread the word about this fab competition nationwide as part of their ad campaign.
